 The father of Jennifer Aniston and the long-running star of Days of Our Lives, John Aniston, passed away at the age of 89.



Important details: Aniston was born in Greece and moved to Pennsylvania as a child.

Aniston was an intelligence officer in the US Navy before she started acting.

He received a video presentation from Jennifer Aniston after winning a lifetime achievement Emmy.

The Friends actress announced her father's passing on Friday, Veteran's Day, in a tribute she posted on Instagram on Monday.

She wrote, "You were one of the most gorgeous people I have ever known."

Her 40 million followers saw pictures of them together.
